Default osx software?

Hey guys,
We've got a old macintosh at school and i got premission to repair the software
Well, they said that the hard disk didn't boot good.
So is there a way to get the old mac working whit a cd-rom?

You could try to find an old relevant version of OS X download and see if that will work on it. The only place you may find a copy is torrents but can't give links.
