One of my problems for last couple of days is the following. I created .zip archive with my important documents. But when I try to open it, I see Invalid data into a Zip file. Only yesterday file was valid. What could do to repair zip data? I've lack of ideas. My pat, suggested to use Google or Yahoo, but I've no idea what and how to search there.

In the past, 7-zip has (for me) been able to open and extract zip files that windows has reported as corrupt. It may be worth giving it a go: https://www.7-zip.org/download.html

If that doesn't work, I can recommend ZIP repair - I've used it a couple of times with promising results: https://www.diskinternals.com/zip-repair

Note that files randomly corrupting themselves could well be a sign of the disk that they're stored on going bad - that just shouldn't happen. I'd make sure you have a backup of all your other documents, just in case (I'd recommend that anyway, but especially in suspicious cases like this.)

Given below is a step by step method to repair ZIP files using inbuilt utility available in a WinRAR application or by using the best solutions from search engines

• Start WinRAR application.
• Go to file menu and click open.
• Through the find archive window, select the corrupted ZIP file available in your local machine.
• Click to open.
• Initialize repair by pressing ALT + R. A message saying, Repairingfile_name.zip will appear.
• Once the repair is done, it will ask you to save the repaired ZIP file. Browse a specific location for saving the selected file.
• Enable Treat the corrupt archive as ZIP box and click OK and click close.

If you don't know how to use Google how the heck did you find this forum? You just guessed the URL?

By the way, if you still have the files you wouldn't need to repair the zip file, just create it again. I'm guessing you don't have them or you wouldn't be asking about it, but just in case.

How did you create the file? Did you copy it from somewhere or are you trying to open it from it's original location? Did you interrupt the archiving process?

If you copied it, maybe it was the transfer that went wrong, and maybe copying it again would solve the problem.

As it was already recommended, 7-zip is the best file archiver you'll find out there, and extremely simple.

Are you trying to open the archives on a different computer? If so, first make sure you're using the same compression software and version.

Random advice: You can try using random related keywords on Google and with time it's gonna be easy. But you're here so it's one way to find an answer.

She will, probably, never come back now after that thoroughly obnoxious opening remark in his post.
