Odd problems.

I've been experiencing the following for the past day:
-Black box flashes on startup and then disappears.
-Dell Inspiron blue loading bar loads slower when starting windows (On a restart, the speed returns to normal).
-USB mouse intermittently stops working (I think it's losing power). I'm constantly having to switch USB ports.

Dell Inspiron 1440
Dual Boot (Windows 7x64Bit/Windows XPx64Bit)

Any help would be appreciated.

when you say 'black box', do you mean a CMD window kind of box?

although this wouldn't explain the box, or the intermittent USBs, Windows taking longer to boot from cold, but not as long on a restart would indicate a dying CMOS battery.
