I would second what sgtwhtie said, there should be a function key that enables the wireless since it's orange.

First of all I want to find out if there is even a wireless card in the laptop? How do I do that? Do I look in device manager? How do I do that too?

yes device manager will tell. you can also use something everest.. google it

just look for network adapters.. and click the maximize button.. and it should show the wireless and ethernet hardware that you have installed

Hit the windows globe button on the keyboard and the pause break button then click on device manager, look under Network Adapters
