No sound need help

I have an Acer Aspire 3680 Linux ubuntu 7.10 and my hard drive broke and i bought a new one and installed the hard drive and installed windows xp with sp2 and the sound stop working i cant turn the volume up or down i went to youtube and the video played be no sound was coming out does any one know how to fix it. Thank you
