Default New Mouse Problems?

New computer (2 weeks). I bought this new Microsoft wireless mouse and it's very choppy moving a third of the time. Any ideas why??

Thanks, Jerry

hmmm. wood should be fine, but try a mouse pad anyway to see if it gets better.

you can also try to change the battery. i know you said that the mouse is new. so the battery should be fine and fully charged, but i had a similar problem with a bluetooth polyvision pen. it was a little choppy to use on the projector and the pen was fairly new. The pen's connection increased after changing battery.

If all else fails use mouse keys. Hold left-Alt and left-Shift and hit the Num-Lock. Just joking. Did the mouse pad work? I was actually looking at the same one the other day but I hate to buy stuff without spending a day looking at reviews on YouTube and where ever else.

Yes, new battery has helped, so far anyway. I know if the computer is busy in the background do stuff, it can cause the mouse to hesitate and pause too.
Thanks again for advice.
