Yes, you need an installation disk. I'm not sure if you can do it without one.

Another option is to get your hands on ERD Commander.

Here is the BSOD Code;

STOP: 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x82F58178, 0xc0000102, 0x00000000)
 
Run chkdsk /r on the drive.

This could be the result of the virus corrupting system files or a failing drive.
 
how do i run the chkdsk, do i need to get the computer in recover mode via winXP repair disc?
 
I used my Windows XP repair disc that i made off another computer. I ran the chkdsk /r command and still nothing. So now what? :)
