Default Need Help ..........

hi i just got a new hard drive because my old one set a light. Now the new one i have to install a os i got a copy of windows xp .. now i need to know how to install windows xp on to the hard drvie ?

make sure the bios is set to boot from the cd rom first. then just put the cd in and go from there. i think thats how it works for a new hdd. only ever tried that method when formatting my hdd though

When installing a fresh copy of XP, it will format the hhd automatically during the install.

What size is the HD i have a 250GB and windows can only detect up to 137GB at first unless it already has SP2 i think, if u don't and it wont detect the full size then once u install it then go onto your makers website and they should have a program that will change the registry to allow windows 2 detect the whole HD
