My COmputer doesnt recognize my target file???

hi, ive been trying to install a gmod (the one without steam) and i follow all instructions from the guy off youtube (properly) and when i get to the final stage of changing the shortcuts target file in property's i get this
'

the name 'C:\Gmod\hl2.exe" -steam -game garrysmod -appid 4001' specidied in the target box is not valid. make sure the path and file name are correct'

and then i tried on my other laptop and it did same thing :S
i am running windows 7 on a dell vostro 3300 2gb ram and pretty much stock stuff.
and my other laptop is windows vista.
i looked on coments but couldnt find any1 with same problem.
so could someone plz help

EDIT: the target file is exactly the right destination and hl2.exe is where the link says it is
