MS Word effecting email messages

This is a very unusual error and I can't even begin to look up a solution on the internet.

This person will have email messages minimized to his desktop. When ever he opens up a word document, the minimized email messages would pop up, then the word document will open. It doesn't effect anything other then the fact that it is very annoying.
 
It's because Outlook uses the word editor as the email editor...
so the email is actually an open document, it's the same as if you had a document open, and then opened a different one, first word would take maximised focus showing the old document, then it's load the new document.


he can either...
put up with the annoyance of briefly seeing an email...

or go into outlook

click
tools -> options
click on the Mail format tab.
and uncheck the box that says use word 2003 to edit email messages.


personally I'd just put up with the annoying little flash of the email.
