Default MS Word 2010 strange problem

Hey i have a client who's saying he will be typing out large documents then randomly his microsoft words blinking insertion point will start to scroll up this whole document then when it hits the top freezes and he must close it to fix it

what is he doing to cause this?

and how could we unfreeze it or retrieve his document he was working on(because he did not save) is there a temp file it would be saved as?

as well the cpu is at %100 currently but he says that the word issue happens once a day at least

Thanks for the quick replys folks

It's odd to me that Word would actually be causing the problem you described, considering the 100% CPU usage. However, a simple uninstall/registry clean/reinstall may prove beneficial.

Out of curiosity, is this a laptop?

yes it is a laptop. What we discovered was that the HP default power settings had taken priority of the windows power management settings.Causing it to over heat and have the cpu run at %100 .Simple remove of this HP program solved both issues

Thanks for the reply
