Default Microsoft word ?

How do I turn off auto update for time and date in MS Word. This is getting very irritating. I've been looking for work for a while now and I keep track of when I apply to these places.

Every time I open word it updates all my dates.
I need to turn this off!
I go into options I can't figure out how to turn this off.

Select Insert from the menu bar.
Then date and time
Untick the box labelled update automatically

It would encourage replies if the thread starter were to reply. Even if it was just to to say "rubbish" or "thanks"
