Default Microsoft Outlook

I use Microsoft Office 2010 and I would like to use the Outlook option for my email.

I have scanned the internet and have used numerous different settings to try to get my gmail address to work with outlook but all to no avail.

Has anyone actually managed to do this and could tell me how to achieve it please.

what kind of error message are you getting? You need to follow that to the 'T' otherwise it won't work. gmail is kinda finicky that way.

Well folks, after the following the instructions very carefully and it all taking a considerable amount of time, I have finally managed to get Outlook up and running.

However, despite the fact that the message boxes are telling my that it has all been set up successfully and another box telling me something like x of x operations completed and a grey bar filling up etc. etc., there are still no emails (in or out) showing within Outlook. Additionally no error boxes appeared in the final run in.

Anyone have any ideas on what the final move might be please.
