Default Media Center Edition Extension

Hi guys.
I'm interested in getting Media Center. From what I've been told though, they're a set of extensions on XP Pro - and when it's purchased, you get an XP Pro disk and the Media Center disk.

I have XP Pro installed. Is it possible to install media center on top of this copy of XP Pro without losing anything?

Thanks
-Rhys

Yes it is possible to install MC over XP Pro. I found a website that has the steps for doing it. It seems like a relatively involved process, but have at it and see what happens.

I recommend making a back up of everything first in case something goes wrong though.

Here is the website: http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/thread/18937.aspx

Cheers!

That's cool! Thanks. I'll think about using it, in the meantime I'll be installing Vista Ultimate on another partition anyway which might be a better pick.
