Default Mead recommended for uploading digital video

I have a digital video cam I have almost NEVER used.

I did take a few mins of video with it, and wanted to put it on the computer. Any suggestions on preference of software to edit this.

Ulead DVD, Magic Movie Edit?

thanks

Basic, trim out the garbage. The extra moments of mistakes. Just not a straight copy of everything I recorded.

I have never even tried windows movie maker, I guess I'll give it a go.
thanks

You can cut/edit, add sub titles/music etc with Movie Maker and it's free, have you fired it up to have a look?

I was able to transfer the video so Easy. I expected windows not to be so user friendly. I was surprised with this.
