Yeah ... as for the GUI, i don't think that there is anything wrong with Linux and i would recommend Fedora Core 4 ...

If you want another OS that can run windows apps but is free, why not give reactOS a try?

I don't really know how well does the Windows-compatibility work in ReactOS, since it's based on WINE.

Well, that is the overall goal of the project. I haven't had a chance to see how well it works yet. it would be interesting though.
I like the Debian+KDE combo for myself just fine.

Hmm, I was a debian fan until they fell so far behind with the debian approved apache release that it just wasn't funny any more...

Now, I'm much more of a redhat kind of guy, it's all simple, intuitive and current...


Don't get me wrong, I like the stability that Debian offers, (it really is second to none), but I like to be right at the bleeding edge when it comes to certain things.
