Default Log in problem

In my log in window i did not have to enter pass word. I changed the admin. Name which was different from log in name, now i can not log in since it asks for password. I removed the battery to clear any passwords, i tried to go to safe mode to restore, nothing worked.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I'm trying to replicate the issue in a virtual machine... How many users were on the computer? Just the admin account and you renamed it?

Can you login to the machine as the user? And is that user an Admin account?

Right, but can you login to the machine as the other user that is on the machine? If so, then we can get the admin account back up...

In that prompt, can you change the login name to the other user and login with the users password?
