Default linux server

ok i want to set up a web server and i need a linux server os and i dont want to use ubuntu wat other choices do i have?

macbook 2.0 duo 1 gig ddr2 667 osx 10.4.11
amd x2 5000 2 gig ddr2 800 500gb hdd 9600gt antec 300 xp

CentOS is another great choice as it's pretty identical to RHEL.

Why don't you want to use Ubuntu, IMHO it's the easiest to setup.

Than CentOS is great, it's one of the most common distro's to see on web servers. And unlike RHEL, CentOS is completly free.

Basically with Linux you have your two major variants, BSD based and Debian based. Ubuntu is an example of a very popular Debian based, whereas RHEL and CentOS are BSD based.
