Default linux removal?

my laptop is running vista and linux. most of the linux is installed on my external drive but the boot files are somewhere on the internal hard drive. I do not know what partition they are in because it came with 3 .

In the windows XP recovery console (Accessed by booting off the CD), type this

fixmbr
fixboot

This should replace all the linux bootfiles with Microsoft ones.
