Default linux mandrake as a server

i heard that mandrake would be a good os for a network server/ computer backup. i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to some helpful tricks to help me. and i need to know how do i set it up to be almost headless server?

Well, any Linux distro can be used as a server. My own personal preference for a server OS is Slackware, Debian, and freebsd.

As for the headless server, you could just use ssh.
