Default linux help

I recently installed a stage 3 gentoo os. i have a wireless Ralink card, i know the driver is rt2500. the problem is the card isnt detected, it says its an unknown network device, it tells me this when i type in lspci -v, but in ifconfig it only shows eth0 and lo. How can i solve this problem? Also when i emerge the wireless driver from the cd, which does have it says it is masked, how can i get around this and install it?

Have you tried in hardware manager to upgrade the device drivers using the driver on the CD?

I've had all kinds of trouble with that driver. You may do better to use ndiswrapper and the xp drivers. That was the only way I've gotten that card working. If you do get the rt2500 linux ones working, please post how, because I've given up on them
