which linux is good and can mount a ntfs harddrive

I like ubuntu, however I don't like the fact that it lacks the means nesscary to compile new programs, and that you need to use a package manager.

I also have began to really like OS X 10.4 (Yes, it's a BSD kernel, and BSD was based off of linux) Simple to use and with the apple developer pack it's really really powerful.

Mac os x pwns n00bz

seriously if you want a free version of linux then get ubuntu. but im not sure if it recognizes ntfs...

Almost any version of Linux will allow you to mount an NTFS hard drive. Most of the live cds will anyway (Ubuntu, Knoppix, Mepis- to name a few). If you're looking to save some files from a drive that won't boot, or is possibly corrupt, I would recommend the live version of Knoppix. It has helped me many times.
