Default Linux Boot Error

hey guys, when i boot my linux machine nothing loads up except I get this error "Kernel Panic No Init Found". is there something I can do to fix this problem?

First what distro are you using. Second have you tried looking in the forums for you linux distro. Let me know the answers to both and we can see were to go from there.
