Laptop issues

I have a Sony Vaio PCG-7Y2L that when i turn on goes to a screen that askes which mode i want to go to, Safe mode normal etc... but when i click on any of them it goes for a bit then stops and doesnt boot all the way in. It doesnt shut off it just stops like it freezes i cant get it to boot. any ideas?

Sounds like Windows is corrupt and will need to be reloaded. You will want to make sure you back up all your data (which you do anyway right?). But if you haven't, most computer shops will be able to save your data before they reload it.

If it's like Dell it will ask you in the recovery if you would like to backup your data
