Default Laggy Windows

Hey everyone, I just installed a fresh copy of windows XP. However my windows is extremely laggy I already did system defragment and its still laggy. Does any one know the problem? I already tried installing different windows xp's but the lag continues. Ex of lag would be if i tried to move my window of my computer to the other side of the screen it would lag 1 second behind the mouse. PLEASE HELP!

Did you format when you installed XP or did you install over an existing installation? It is HIGHLY recommended to format and erase all the little crusties left behind from previous installations. Also, what specs are you running?

Did you install all the motherboard drivers?

And video card drivers? If you have onboard video drivers should take care of it.

That sounds like your video/graphic card. Make sure you install those drivers and restart and change the resolution to what you want.
