Yup, not doing anything hardcore. Just trying to install my sound card. Its nothing special, its just a Sound Blaster X-FI.....

Crashed it both using the XP/Vista drivers on the Cd, as well as the Win 7 beta drivers listed here

http://support.creative.com/kb/showarticle.aspx?sid=61105

Does anyone have a solution?

ok, my last crash actually did get it installed, enabled and ''working correctly''.

However.... no sound.

It also says there are no drivers installed for it, and when I go to install it, and make it automatically find them.... it says my drivers are up to date.

Hows that make any sense?

The XP/Vista drives just aren't the right ones and the 7 Beta driver probably isn't quite right either.

It just sounds like a drive compatibility issue. I'd find another card or use the on board until a better driver is released.
