I work for a general construction contractor and I've been put in charge up setting up a Inventory system for all our tools, equipment, etc. I've been researching it some the last few days and want to do a bar code system. My current plan is to put bar codes on everything and use a bar code scanner to keep track of who is taking what and to what job sites. Every year we lose $1000's due to lost equipment or supervisors not being able to track down equipment and buying new equipment which we already had. I'm having trouble finding a software program that can do what I want, more specifically being able to track equipment to different jobs. Also, I've been given a very tight budget for what I am doing.
