Last week my Compaq got a bug and it was nasty! The computer couldn't boot up Windows 7 and the restore disks would load (70-85 minutes for 5 DVD-ROMS) then click continue but it would not wright to harddisc it said error bla bla retry. Click retry and it wanted the cds again!!!!!
I finally got it fixed! Downloaded a Windows 98 Bootloader iso and burned myself a disc then used it (command line style) to reformat my harddrive and then Win7 went right on!
I had lost my C: prompt thats why Win 7 could write to harddisc!
