ewww GIMP....i definately support open source, but they've got a ways to go..

Photoshop is a great paint program. If you're planning on animating, you'll probably want to use Ulead . Might consider a good drawing program too, and there I don't know what I'd recommend.

I am certaintly for The GIMP.
It has all tools neccecary to create great graphics.
The layout of the tools is unusual but it still works fine.
