Hello,

I don't know how this happened (and don't know much about computers!) but I have 2 service packs in my HP laptop. One is called Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 and the other is Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2. Each has 180+ MB's ! Doesn't sound right??? Can I remove one of them to save space? Which one? Don't know what to do------please help...!

It's correct - my advice is to leave them both on there.

The .NET framework isn't like the Java JDK where you just install the latest version and then should be able to run all previous applications. If something's written for .NET 2.0, you need the .NET framework version 2.0 and the same for version 1, 3, etc.

The service packs bring all the different versions up to date with security / bug fixes etc. and will be different for each version, so no, don't remove them. If you're short on space in this day and age to the extent that 180MB matters, I suggest you invest in a bigger hard drive!
