I have a collection of DVD's that Id like to back-up. I just bought a 1TB USB external HD from Neweggdotcom. I know I will need some sort of software, but its been so long since I last did this that I forgot what program I last used. Maybe Magic DVD Copier? Im not sure, but any advise is welcomed :) Thanks

DVDFab has giving me amazing results. You can do full disc, main movie, blue rays and much more. You do have to pay for it though, but its worth it if you have a lot of movies you want to back up.

the best software I can think of is InfraRecorder (it's totally free)
you can get the useful instructions how to copy dvd on the website and download the program itself
there's also FAQ if you need it
but honestly the program is really easy to use, I didn't have to check them out, it's just one-two click and the DVD is copied

I also like InfraRecorder because it doesn't require a lot of space in the primary storage, I messed up with Nero a lot but after I found out there's an alternative I was happy
