how to install xp tablet edition on toughbook cf-18

i have a toughbook cf-18 with linux ubuntu install. the laptop doesnt have intenal disc drive a option to boot from usb flash drive.

i have a regular xp cd with key.
my plan is to swap hdd and install it from another computer. or get my homies external disc drive and install the regular xp cd. but after installing regular xp can i get the tablet version by downloading from microsoft website? or do i need to buy the xp tablet cd???

i saw on wikipedia that it was free as part of sp2.
from wikipedia: "Initially, a retail version could not be purchased separately from a tablet PC, but in August 2004 it became universally available at no cost as part of Service Pack 2 for Windows XP."
