Default how do u reformat HELP!!!!

i bought a dell xps gen2 notebook and wen it got here there was no OS disk......PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Is the notebook new, I would call Dell if it was. There probably is a restore partition

On your computer, there is a recovery disk creator. It allows you to have a copy of the Dell XP OEM CD. To access it, go to the start menu and look for something like dell accessories. There should be some sort of recovery disk creator.... If you run it, it will only allow you to burn ONE and ONLY ONE copy of the XP CD. After the CD is burnt, the program will self-destruct and you will no longer have the chance to create the CD.

Also, try to press F12 or one of the function keys immediately after pressing the power button. If your system has it, it will guide you through the recovery partition. Note: The recovery partition is available on some Dell systems
