How can I install XP off a flash drive?

If you just wish to install XP on your Eee I would buy a USB to IDE cable. (£10) then connect it to your optical drive in your PC (or a spare) and use the XP disk. I used both methods and that is the simplest.

Use Unetbootin. It's a (I think linux-only) utility for creating bootable flash drives from any iso file. You would have to first make sure you have a Windows XP CD, then use some sort of utility (not sure what) to create an iso, then unetbootin it onto your Cruzer (yes, cruzers are U3, but that doesn't apply here, you will have to remove U3 if you have it).

Hey, there is a utility to put the Windows XP setup files on a flash drive. Get it at: http://wintoflash.com/home/en/. It's called Novicorp WinToFlash and it works with WinXP, Vista, and 7. You can also designate a partition for, say, recovery or to boost the install speed? IDK. It's a VERY useful utility.
