Default Help with Virtualbox

I am trying to install and run software programs through VirtualBox. Honestly, I'm not sure what I am doing and I went through the VirtualBox help guide with no luck. Can anyone help me out in explaining to me how to install a program through a VM that I have created, even if I have to create a new VM and start from scratch.

How are you trying to install the programs?
You should be able to just insert the CD or download them and install...
Are you trying to get an OS on the VM?
Are they programs on the master machine?
Please be a little more detailed.

Humans are the only creatures that won't live up to the their potential. Give everything your all. When you die, die on E.

So I ask you, what do you intend to do now?

I am not sure that you understand the concept of Virtualbox. This is a program that was created to run VM's that would in turn run multiple OS's on a host OS. As such you need to install an OS onto Virtualbox so that you can install the programs and have them run.

What operating system have you/do you want to install on VirtualBox? What program inside that OS? VirtualBox is an application for running multiple Operating Systems (such as Ubuntu (Linux), Chromimum, etc.) on a host operating system, as wmorri explained. What exactly, in detail, do you want to do with VirtualBox?
