i tried reformatting virus checking and my comp is clean i dont know why its doing this if anybody can help me please do so cause i have no idea whats wrong with my computer THANK YOU

yeh check your not running to hot, seeing as you say this happens while playing a gameor watching catoons that would seem like a good possibility

you dont get any errors do you?, what OS are you running?, trying running your virus scan in safe mode incase you missed something, maybe there is a worm hiding somewhere

Check to make sure u are running the latest drivers on ur Mobo chipset..and everything such as video drivers Sound drivers...all that stuff... my computer used to have a problem rebooting and it would do it randomly so after checking to make sure my PSU was ok and that my rig wasent hot enought to fry a egg on i updated everydriver and it works great...If u wanna know what driver i had problems with it was my chipset 875P and my Video Card 5900 So try that hope this helped :-D

possible powersupply issue.. or could be RAM overloading... i'd test both... change your RAM to test and powersupply... most like a powersupply problem... ive had this exact problem on my laptop and it was my powersupply going out.

I used to have the same problem with my Geforce4 mx 440 when I tried to play Half Life 2. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the NVidia website and it worked fine.

can you restart the computer after the shutdown? some motherboard problems can result in symptoms like this. if it is the motherboard, then usually the problem would get worse over a few months. i'd take the computer to a hardware specialist to check it.
