Exclamation Help Os

If i upgrade my OS from windows xp sp3 to windows vista home premium sp1 will it erase all my files or keep them. I have no idea someone please help

As far as I know, it shouldn't erase the files unless you switch file system formats on your hard drive (e.g. from NTFS to FAT32 or visa versa). Don't reformat your drive and you should be fine (I admit, I've never attempted this feat, since Vista SP1 was a turd in the punch bowl, and XP was a much more solid system to work with). Again, if it's anything like previous Windows systems, it'll work just fine!

Ok thank you =] Personally I'm not too sure about this downgrade haha. My brother just got a new laptop for college and it had a windows vista disc with it. So i think i may try it out, but not completely sure yet...

It should keep you files and programs intact, but you should back up the important ones in case anything goes wrong.
