Im trying to edit games into highlights on my Xbox360.

Using Aiseesoft HD Converter and for the most part it does what I want it to do. I also have Vegas Pro 10, but I cant even get the videos to load up, so I scrapped it. I have most my game files on a WD USB 1TB external hard drive. Yes I know firewire would be better for what Im doing, but this is what I got. Here is the problem Im having.

After about 6hrs of editing, I realize that I left the audio on during the edits. Which is something I didnt want, because Im wanting to play music over the highlight video. So I had to restart. Now Im going BACK through and doing it all over again, except for some reasons files that had worked fine a day before are no longer working. On the playback the video is real blotchy and patchy looking.

So my question is:
How does a file work perfect 1 day and unusable the next?

If I click the file just to watch it in its entirety (40min) it works perfect every time. When I say its blotchy, Im referring to the playback AFTER the highlights have been extracted.

Im confused as to what causes this?
How it can be fixed?
