Help with dropping internet.

Hi all,

Sometimes when i'm downloading a torrent, my internet drops. It doesn't do it for all torrents, just some. And it will drop sporadically, and I have to keep resetting the wireless router for it to pick up again and download another bit of the torrent before dropping. Any ideas on what to do to fix this?

Also, is there any way to get y computer to recognize my wireless router first? When I open my computer, it usually picks up a different router, which doesn't work too well. I have to go to airport and have it connect to my router. Is there a way for it to connect to mine first and disregard the other?

I'm on a macbook pro and running all the latest software.

Schmidt1989, I hope that these are legal torrents you're downloading.... the issue is with your router. When you have high bandwidth sometimes, if it's a crappy router, the router will drop and need to be reset. Had that happen to me when I was downloading Ubuntu through a torrent and found out the issue was with my router.
