Hi, New to the forum, I'm trying to work on a laptop given to me by my dad. It is from his workplace, and therefore has had features disabled by the IT. I've spent most of the night trying to format the hard drive, but keep having trouble. I cant access the hard drive or change any files on the computer (I get the access has been denied message, and when I try to download something, I get an error.)
When I try to boot from CD (I have a cracked copy of XP Sp2), It just dosen't, and loads XP. The BIOS doesn't have a boot from CD option. I'm Stumped.
If anyone has any ideas as to how I could do this, I'd like to know.

Distributed to employees:2005
Taken back by company: 2008 (Sat in a closet till now)
Windows XP Professional sp2
40Gig Hard Drive, 1.6 GHz CPU, 512 Mb ram
