I just recently Tried playing a Video in H264 at 1080p and it seems choppy, it starts to slowdown and what not. But why does it do that I am useing ubuntu and in totem it is doing this as well as vlc and mplayer. Also in windows I installed cccp and played it on WMP and it plays smoothly and then when I try Vlc or KMPlayer it starts to slowdown and skip. I don't understand why it would do that (I think it is because of the Codecs) but either way it shouldent on my ubuntu because Ive installed the win32 codecs and the gstreamer codecs. also my pc has an intel core 2 quad at 2.4 ghz and has 4 gb ram, the gpu is a Nvidia gt 8800 dvi out but I am useing vga as my monitor only supports vga. I'm just curious on why such a choppy playback (my 720p videos work perfect) because When I check my cpu meter it says its running at 30-40% cpu power. Anyone ever seen this before?

Got it to work, I had to update my SMplayer with
