i remember, ive had problems in the past where GRUB has gone infront of boot.ini and NTLDR, so when Ubunu gets uninstalled, i have to go through all the hassle of fixing windows boot files.

If i 'install inside windows' from the Live CD (10.04 LTS edition), and install it on a seperate partition anyway, will i be able to use the Windows bootloaders, so when/if i uninstall it, i dont have to fix the boot files?

long story short, how to install Ubuntu so i can use the Windows OS list etc?

Hi,

The only way that I know of to install Ubuntu inside of Windows is to use WUBI. I don't know much about the install itself other than it has caused problems in the past for some people. From what the website says it will install Ubuntu onto the bootloader of Windows as you are saying. Also, it will add ubuntu to the add/remove programs menu so if you ever want to delete it then you will only have to go there.

Cheers!
