Default firmware all mixed up

hello to you all. ive opened winrar winzip and a few others. ashpash 21 gave me instuctions on how to use winrar, was very happy that someone replied, but it did not work for me in the end, my trouble is im really new to all this and every time i try unzipping or unraring a file. it still looks the same, with all the letters and numbers all mixed up, that dont make any sense, please could someone explain to me, if the file should look like this. it does not matter what file i try to open, they all look the same, befor and after i unzip, just all mixed up, if anyone could spare a few minuites to write a few things that would put some light on this. i would appreciate this thanx . a big thanx to ashpash 21

Right click on the file and select extract all. A window pops up showing you where the extracted folder will be put.
Try that and get back to me.
