Default File type

Can someone tell me how I determine the file type on a DVD that I play on my computer. I want to convert it to an avi file so I can edit it with software on my windows 7 operating system.....I am a novice......thank you

Hi harley

Right click on your Video file in the drop down click properties and in the small window that opens select general and you will see the file format >
