File Folder Problems

I am using XP home. I have a problem with my file folders. One is that when I double-click to open a folder, it automatically goes into Command Prompt instead of opening the folder so I can view its contents. How can this be fixed?

Another problem, is that my folder icons are from an old, un-installed theme, but the icons still remain as defualt. How can I change them back to default windows folder icon istead of the one from the old theme?

To sort out your problem with going into command prompt - honestly i do not know how that came up but if I was in you position, I would do a scandisk (this helps to sort out problems that are most technical that one may not know).

For your folder type option, go to control panel, folder options, view and click 'reset all folders and click yes.
