I think you'll want to look at the answer just posted there and refer to the documentation in the section on how to move partitions seen at http://gparted.sourceforge.net/larry...es/gparted.htm

Never simply go by Howtogeeks or some other blog but the actual guide written for seeing the best results.

I'm presently running the 7 beta release as the primary OS putting it through the mill by loading it up with various programs. I keep XP on as a 3rd OS at this point.

You mean XP Pro with SP3 don't you? All the fixes that should have been seen in the previous service packs finally got rolled into that one.

Yes. It's the server version of the Windows operating system you run on your PC.

You should not use standard Windows systems on a quad-core server. they don't have the same capabilities as the server version of the products.

In fact, I would avoid using Windows in any way, but that's just me and the subject for another question.

Well at one point XP Pro was the only desktop version to run on a two cpu server board due to seeing that type of support. For Vista the Enterprise edition for corporate application would be the consideration for that type of use.

I'd have to say XP because it's stable and seems to work well for me, although I'm running the beta of windows 7 and I really like it.

XP didn;t become stable until SP3 was out with some 1,000 fixes seen there. Vista turned out to be more stable overall seeing far less errors popping up. 7 so far seems a bit more stable while still in beta but ligher on resources.

My favorite OS is Vista. Next would be Mac OS X Leopard, then Windows 98 SE. Linux and Windows XP isn't even in my vocabulary anymore.
