I run 10.04 my self with few problems. It would depend on a number of factors-- the hardware you are using, what kind of programs you are running and such.

Ubuntu 11.04 is a hog, and unusable on my laptop, which dual-boots Win 7, BTW.

ok guys thanks for the replys, what im trying to do is make me a home server( thats stores all my picture,music,videos etc) that i can access over the internet anywhere. So with you know what im looking at doing, which OS would you suggest Windows home server or Ubuntu Server?

well, I've never managed to get half of what I use to work on Windows xP It's a big of a n00b OS. Trollface.jpg

And I've used Ubuntu in various versions and Mac OS since 10.4.11 with no anti-virus, and I used to be a big downloader, have had no viruses or malware of any sort.

ok thank you!! Thats what i was hoping because its free and this a simple put-together to see if i could build one and manage it. If i could get it to work the way i want it too then ill build a more expenssive one.
