My mate bought my pc from me after i purchased a new laptop. Set up pc in his house connects to the internet not a problem, and was running fine. everyone was happy. He text me yesterday saying that he hut the f10 recovery key on boot up after trying to install the automatic update of sevrice pack 3 for xp. I told him not to do the update for sevice pack 3 as i tried it earlier and it didnt work, i had to go into safe mode and do a system restore.
So when he has hut the f10 key he said that the computer went back to factory settings, but still has desktop icons which where installed by me, nero, skype etc. Allc his music videos and pictures etc are gone, but when you check c drive properties it shows the 160gb hard drive as half full, when you run search for files you can see it searching files and folders of his file s but it doesnt show the files where they are ment to be, confusing i know, when you go to system restore it has lost all restore points i created, and only has the one which is sunday night.
We are totally lost could someone help please??????
