I have 2 older laptops. One is ok except that the #7 keyboard button has popped off. I have the parts.
The other had water spilled on it and now the space bar won't work and a couple letters when pushed also creates another letter other than pushed at the same timre.
I know I can clean the key board and look for shorts to maybe fix that and I can get the #7 fixed on the other.

What I am interested in doing is letting these go .
I have never stored ANY pertinent data, like bank #'s or CC #'s . Basically used for surfing and buying omline.
Bank #'s and CC #'s were used in those cases
Does that mean that those #'s are in my hard drive?
Do I need to TOTALLY wipe my hard drive clean?
Thanks for any responsees, Bob.

When you say, "letting these go", are you talking about selling them, or throwing them out in the garbage?

If you're selling them, format the HDD, and do a fresh OS install. There is loads of data, that you can't even imagine.

If you're disposing of them, remove, and destroy the hard drives, disks.
