Default Editing scanned PDF in Libre Office

When I load a scanned pdf file into Libre Office Drawing, I see two images one on the top of the other. One is the original, the other seems to be the OCR of it. I only want to modify a word in the original: erase or cut 'those' and type in 'this'.
How do I get rid of the OCR layer?
And, can I cut or erase an area in the scanned pdf and type or insert text in its place? What I could do in Photoshop.
Thank you
